Being able to differentiate between a grantor and grantee is imperative to know in order to understand a chain of title. The suffix "or" is used to denote the person who performs an action. The suffix "ee" is used to denote the recipient of that action.
Essentially, a grantor will "give" or grant something and a grantee will "receive" it. A helpful hint is that the words "receive" and "grantee" have multiple Es in their spelling. This is the same for lessor/lessee.
